Is Charisma on Command a good dating course for men?
Charisma on Command (Charisma University) is self-paced, includes a community. See their site for current enrollment details.
Reviewers on r/CharismaOnCommand call it beginner-friendly. They also say it mostly organizes material that’s on their free YouTube channel. If you like structure, that’s reasonable. If you’re happy to piece things together yourself, the free channel may be enough.
Best for: beginners who want a low-commitment, self-paced dating course for men.

What does SocialSelf offer?
SocialSelf was founded in 2012 by David Morin. Its Social Skills Accelerator runs three months and includes three live coaching sessions per week and five course programs with lifetime access. There’s also Self-Conscious to Confident. See their site for current enrollment details.
Trustpilot reviews are mostly positive. A few reviewers say it was too basic for them.
Best for: men who want regular live sessions and a defined three-month window.

The Attractive Man review: is the bootcamp right for you?
The Attractive Man runs in-person dating bootcamps, including the Natural Attraction Bootcamp, with cold-approach practice. Contact them directly for current schedules and enrollment details.
If your main problem is that you never approach anyone, a dating bootcamp for men like this one gives you real reps with people next to you. That beats any video course for that specific problem.
Best for: men who want in-person, hands-on approach practice and can travel for it.
What about other dating bootcamps for men?
Love Systems historically sold 3-day in-person bootcamps, and reviews are mixed. Real Social Dynamics reportedly no longer sells pickup courses. Check current offerings yourself before you commit to anything.
Can Toastmasters or Dale Carnegie help with dating?
Neither is a dating program, but both build skills that carry over: speaking up, thinking on your feet and handling feedback.
Toastmasters is a peer-led club, and guests can visit for free before joining. Clubs are peer-led, with prepared and impromptu speaking and peer evaluations. Guests can visit for free, so you can test it first. It’s one of the simplest structured options.
Dale Carnegie is instructor-led over several weeks, and details vary by local franchise. See the official site for current enrollment details in your area.
Best for: Toastmasters if you want low-commitment, regular practice. Dale Carnegie if you want professional-style communication training and your employer might sponsor it.

How does The Art of Charm compare?
We started as a podcast and coaching company in the 2007 era and have 12,500+ alumni. Our legacy in-person bootcamp no longer runs, so if a live bootcamp is what you want, The Attractive Man is a better fit than us.
We’ve also had public criticism. A 2024 r/socialskills post said paid content wasn’t worth it, and some older reviews called parts of our academy content dated. That’s fair feedback, and it’s why you should look hard at any program, ours included, before joining.
How do I choose the best dating coach for me?
Ask yourself three questions:
- What’s stopping me? If it’s approaching, pick a bootcamp. If it’s confidence, try Toastmasters first.
- How much accountability do I need? Self-paced courses work only if you’ll finish them.
- How much commitment fits me right now? Start free. Then move up.
If you’re not sure where you stand, take the Dating Influence Index quiz first. It helps you see which skills to work on.

Should I join the X-Factor Accelerator?
If you want a structured 90-day program rather than a pile of videos, the X-Factor Accelerator is our answer. It’s a bigger commitment than some options here, and it isn’t a live in-person bootcamp. It includes a 1:1 onboarding call with Johnny and weekly group coaching (Tuesdays, 7 PM ET). Compare it against the options above.

Frequently asked questions
What is the best dating coach for men?
It depends on your starting point. Charisma on Command suits self-paced beginners, SocialSelf suits men who want live sessions, The Attractive Man suits men who want in-person cold-approach practice, and Toastmasters is a low-commitment way to build speaking confidence. Our X-Factor Accelerator is a 90-day program.
Is a dating bootcamp for men worth it?
It can be if you will actually practice what you learn afterward. A bootcamp gives you a push and real-world reps, but the results come from repeating those reps at home. Check the schedule directly with the provider before you commit.
Is a dating course for men enough, or do I need a coach?
A course is enough if you are disciplined and need structure. Live feedback from a person helps if you tend to stall, or can't tell what you're doing wrong on your own.
What's the best low-commitment option?
Toastmasters is a peer-led club; guests can visit for free before joining. It's peer-led speaking practice. Free YouTube channels are also free and show you quickly whether you need more help.
Are free options good enough?
For many men, yes, at least as a start. Free YouTube channels, plus Toastmasters guest visits, are free and show you quickly whether you need more help.
