Charm classes for men have popped up all over the place for guys who want to improve their social skills and dating life. With so many options it can be tough to figure out exactly which schools deliver the most value. Here are a few key points that will help you decipher the quality programs from the ones that will simply drain you of time and money.
The first thing a charm class for men should have is quality instruction. Before doing anything it’s crucial to learn exactly what makes a guy charming. This means learning the fundamentals behind charisma and attraction as well as proven methods for showing these qualities. The end result is a guy with great social skills who is able to succeed with women, in business, and all other social aspects of his life.
Some companies overlook this. Their idea of teaching charisma is to give out scripts and have a guy conform to somebody else’s style. He’s doesn’t learn charisma, he learns learning to put on a show. Quality instruction helps a guy bring out and develop his own brand of charm.
There are plenty of books, seminars, and weekend retreats that can help teach the finer points of charisma. However most of them do not provide a way to implement what was learned. Going to a seminar, sitting in a classroom taking notes and then practicing what you’ve learned on hired employees or other participants isn’t really going to help. Practicing these skills in a real-world scenario is the best way to internalize them and make them a part of who you are.
The fact is you’ll learn more by spending one night out pushing yourself in interactions than you would spending a whole weekend taking notes and practicing in a private environment. The end goal is to be able to have quality interactions with anybody, anywhere (or maybe just with hot women at a bar, that’s fine too). Like everything else in life the only way to truly get good at it is through practice.
Both classwork and fieldwork are wildly important, but what makes them most effective is alternating between the two. A program where guys just take notes, practice a bit, and then go home is not fully doing its job. After learning the fundamentals and then going out for the night you’ll find some things went well while some aspects could use improvement. New questions regarding these behaviors will arise. It’s key to come back, examine what happened, make the necessary adjustments, then get out and practice some more. Repeating this pattern will increase your development exponentially.
This back-and-forth is crucial, and the longer you can do it the better off you’ll be. That’s why programs that only last an evening or two are not ideal. Clients at those programs may feel great while they are there, but the effects don’t last. Two weeks after the program they find themselves in more or less the same situation as before. If you want these behaviors to become ingrained you’ll want to immerse yourself and work on them day after day after day.
Another way to make sure the information sticks is through continuous learning. Most charm classes for men simply end, and send the guys on their way without any sort of follow up. Without a structure in place that will allow you to continuously work on your development there’s a good chance all the progress you’ve made will gradually fade. Best case scenario is you’ll plateau and not improve at all after the program; worst case is you fall back into all your old patterns.
Here at AoC we’ve spent over six years refining our program to include everything that charm classes for men should have. We give a guy a chance to immerse himself for a full week in an environment where he can focus strictly on developing his social skills and charisma. He spends all week alternating between in-field practice and instructional classwork where he gets personalized feedback from professional coaches each day. Once he leaves the program he can ensure that these new skills stick with phone coaching and by staying connected through the AoC Alumni Facebook page. It’s a great resource for guys to support each other and is an endless source of encouragement and advice.
